It's been a long time since I bought an album and have just become lost in it, playing it over and over again. Each song will stay with me for a long time Eliza, thanks heaps!
Favorite track: Always.
After her debut EP, Waters, that hit critical acclaim receiving airplay across BBC Radio 1, 2, 6Music, BBC Radio Scotland, XFM, Amazing Radio, KCRW, and strong support from The Sunday Times, The Line of Best Fit, Clash Magazine, i-D Magazine, and The 405, Eliza Shaddad returns with her follow up EP ‘Run’.
The differences between the Waters EP and Eliza's new EP could not be starker. Any prettiness, however sparse, we had on the London-based Scots-Sudanese singer's debut EP has been replaced a whole lot of grit and dirt, we can hear this in Shaddad's voice which sounds like it's been given freedom to roam and prowl.
Whilst also harnessing elegant, nimble and bitter-sweet characteristics, turbulent ‘Run’ washes over full of conviction and flashes of vitriol as well as exciting fans of things to come for her debut album.
“She gets nakedly confessional” - Fader
“With each passing track, Eliza Shaddad is demanding more of our attention, and the feelings are growing” - The Line Of Best Fit
“Anyone who enjoyed the excellent recent album by Daughter will lap this up, while there's more than a shade of her countrymen The Twilight Sad's darkness. Hugely impressive stuff” - Shortlist
“A literate, emotive edge that is both intelligent and completely humane” - CLASH

A collection of tightly constructed and meticulously polished tunes, which still have a sense of that indie-rock spirit - a few musicians together in a small room, writing songs from the heart. Tristan
Released in 2001, “The Convincer” is a gentle gem in the Nick Lowe catalog; an anniversary edition provides opportunity for rediscovery. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 20, 2021
Erudite chamber pop that hearkens back to the elegant and experimental production of the 1960s, swinging from melancholia to playfulness. Bandcamp New & Notable May 13, 2016
Four super songs from Sarah; all beautifully structured, sung and produced. There's a real brooding intensity to the messages built into these tracks – feelings that aren't quickly forgotten. Michael Reilly
